Tonight is a self serve bonfire. Please carefully toss your nasty unsmokeds, and anything else that’s bothering you, into the fire and just relax.
🎉 Today is FAT THURSDAY! If ever there was an excuse to load up on sweet treats and take indulgent eating to the next level, Fat Thursday is just the ticket. A celebration of all things dough-related, this Polish tradition offers a gilt-edged, guilt-free opportunity to gorge on doughnuts or paczki.😋
Fat Thursday offers the perfect excuse to enjoy a treat day and celebrate a much-loved morsel of confectionary that has delighted crowds throughout the ages. Eating doughnuts is not just a means of satisfying the stomach before Lent. According to folklore, stocking up on these delights is also bound to bring good luck. What’s not to like? 🍩🍩🍩 What’s YOUR favourite doughnut?
⭐️ Everyone is invited, of course, but newbies are our favorites because their sickarettes make the bonfire explode like crazy. So whether you have 20, 200, 20,000 or 200,000 stinkeroos, we want your unsmokeds to make this fire blaze high.
🔥 This wonderful Bonfire tradition is carried on in the memory of our very own Q-Angel, Mary (tillietoiler) Merrey. She started the bonfire as a place to get together and toss away your unsmoked cigarettes and anything else that may be bothering you. As Mary became too weak to host, the BBBs (Bonfire Brigade Babes & Bros.) took over tending Mary’s fire. 🌴 Feel free to wander around Q Island. 🌴 The Tiki Bar is always hopping later on. There is an amazing buffet available for your enjoyment: shrimp, lobster, prime rib, steak, roast chicken and turkey, ham, even some eggplant parmigiana and all the sides! The All Things Chocolate buffet is a favourite too.😋 Enjoy! Everything is calorie free here on Q Island.
For those who prefer a quieter evening, there are plenty of loungers set out on the beach. That's where the dolphins love to play. Sometimes they get very excited and splash quite close to the edge of the beach; so don't be surprised if you get a bit wet! Towels are in the big hamper by the hammocks.
🔥 Newbies and everyone else, shout out your anniversaries and any milestones you may be celebrating. I love to celebrate those important days. And remember, it's because of each of you that we are here!
