Friday Night Bonfire!! July 10, 2020
The beloved BONFIRE is here! Sven and I have both had a rough week, and as a result nothing special planned tonight! But a regular Friday night bonfire is still special, as it signals the end of the work week for many, and the start of the weekend! So it will still be great!! Bring your unsmoked nasties, along with anything bothering you, worries, troubles, fears....and let us take them off your hands! Kick back in an easy chair down by the beach and sip on a cold one! Your drink will not go unfilled as our trusty Cabana guys and gals will be right at your side with a fresh refill!!

Good evening all you beautiful NOPEsters! I’m Dave L. and I’m hosting the bonfire tonight! Hosting the Bonfire is an honor for me, traditions need to be kept alive! I encourage everyone — whether you have 2, 20, 200, 20,000 or 200,000 unsmoked cigarettes to add to the fire — to join us here. Every bonfire night you can also throw any worries or problems into the fire too. That was part of our very own Q-Angel, Mary (tillietoiler) Merrey’s wish when she started the bonfire. (From the history of the Bonfire) Everyone is welcome at the bonfire, even those who have not yet quit smoking. The purpose of the bonfire is to relax, talk about your day, unload your unsmoked cigarettes into the fire, along with frustrations, etc. Gather with friends, laugh much, eat even more, toast a few marshmallows, snooze in a hammock, swim with the dolphins, soak in a hot tub and play some tunes and dance, all while imbibing in your favorite beverage from the Tiki Bar....The bonfire is meant to be a safe haven to relieve the stress brought on by quitting smoking. Mary’s one request was to have fun, but to keep it clean.
🌴 While you’re here, feel free to wander around NOPE Island. There is an amazing buffet and tasty drinks of all kinds at the Tiki Bar and you’ll probably find other NOPEsters there to chat with throughout the evening. For a quieter evening, head on down to the beach, grab a lounge chair, and watch the dolphins.
🔥 Newbies and everyone else, shout out your anniversaries and any milestones you’re celebrating. We love to celebrate those important days. And remember, it's because of each of you that we are here!
Methods of hauling your unsmoked cigarettes: 001-500.............tall kitchen trash bags; 501 to 999..............black yard size trash bags; 1,000 to 9,999.............wheel barrows; 10,000 to 49,999............brand new dump truck in your choice of colors; 50,000 to 99,999..................a train; 100,000 to 249,999...................a barge; more?.....get creative!
Now if you’re ready, let’s get this fire started with the only lighter allowed on NOPE Island, the golden lighter brought to the original bonfires by Mary Merrey/tillietoiler herself.
And remember Tillie’s one request is to KEEP IT CLEAN!!
